Here I woke in the tent again
With a dog
And a good friend
But in this text
Will be something more deep
Than just the thoughts
I seem to keep
Repeating.
So for the past few posts I have been talking about the teenage mind, what certain words translate to in our language, the value of memory and the value of thought, such things as this. But in this post I will be talking about something, hopefully, quite mind boggling.
To start us off i will be talking a little about the fall of humanity. That fateful day when Eve took a bite of the forbidden fruit and then passes it on to the man she was created from. (Notice I say from, not by. Eve was created from the rib of Adam but made by God. Genesis 2: 21-23 "So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, 'This is now the bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman', for she was taken out of man.)
So God made Eve, Eve ate the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil and gave it to Adam. Adam ate the fruit, and this is where things got sticky. In Genesis 3 it talks about the Fall. After Adam and Eve knew what they had done they hid from God in shame. Genesis 3:10 "He answered, 'I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.'" A series of conversation followed as so. God asked Adam "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you no to eat from?" Adam blamed it on Eve and Eve was quick to blame it on the serpent that had tempted her to disobey, and then came the curse upon man. "So the LORD God said to the serpent, 'Because you have done this, Cursed are you above all the livestock and all the wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head and you will strike his heel.' To the woman he said, 'I will greatly increase your pains in child bearing; with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband and he will rule over you.' To Adam he said, 'Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, 'You must not eat of it' ' Cursed is the ground because of you; though painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. By the sweats of the brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; and to dust you will return.'"
And so the curse of man kind began as it slowly eroded our hearts and minds. Yet in all of that, there are many strange things you could question. But the question I'm going to ask is; Didn't it seem strange that Eve didn't get frightened when the serpent that tempted her, began to speak? Somehow I think that if a snake slithered up to me and began to talk to me about some delicious fruit I would be pretty shocked. But Eve was not. Is there I possibility that we've lost more than said at the fall of humanity. As a matter of fact we lost perfection. We lost the abilities originally given to us by God. But what exactly did we lose in our corruption?
It's been said that humans are never able to use every part of their brain at once. But what if we were? What if we could remember every letter, every word, every smell, sight, color, taste, heartbreak, lesson... What would capabilities of the human mind be? If you think about it, over time people have limited themselves to what they can do. They tell themselves they aren't smart enough to get that job, they aren't smart enough to do what they dream of. And if you look at the inventors industry on TV infomercials, you see things like; The Snuggie: A robe you slip over your head. The Pillow Pet: A stretched stuffed animal made to be able to fold over and come together at the belly with velcro. Could we be making better than this? I'm not talking about war items or something that could cause death and destruction that is currently happening in Iran, but maybe something that will all in all help. The only problem is that people are so corrupt these days that even the most helpful thing will be used for the worse, but maybe if we could somehow open our eyes to the possibility of success, we would be able to see that the capabilities of humans, even after The Fall, are great.
So where are we left off at? How many times does humanity have to kill and hurt and steel and deceive before we realize that running into the same walls over and over again gets you no where? How long must we continue to do the same thing before we realize we must change the game in order to win? The thought that we are too dumb to do anything will get us no where. Even if we can't use full brian capacity. I believe that if we were jump out of the mind set of limitations, the monsters we've created ourselves to be would realize what they are, and a great friend of mine once said "admitting it is the first step."
What in the world would we come to if we decided to break out of the box society has pushed us into? As my high school band director once told us "The definition of insanity: Doing the same thing over and over again thinking something will change." So will we continue? Or will we try our hardest to find this mind that God gave us. This great human mind. In the end people will fail. We will always bite into the fruit forbidden to us, but if we set our minds to the one who created them, how far can we go? And how great would we become through the one who will save us in the end?
Until next time,
Nay.

What a beautiful day!
Blankets surround me
They warm me and encompass me
Pillows and stuffed animals call my name
The soft light of a movie
Flashes in our tent
I sit in my living room
With a very good friend
Bellies full
Of cookies and
Cool whip, cinnamon
Hot chocolate delight
And I feel happy
That I get the privilege
Of being alive.
Here I sit, in a blanket fort complete with pillars and a trash can disposal. I remember back to my child hood when making a fort was like trying to conquer the world. Feeling like a brave knight building a wall to protect innocent civilians from getting pulverized by evil imaginary monsters. And here I feel like that seven year old child yet again. Yet there's one difference, putting up the fort didn't seem as difficult of a task as it did eight years ago. Feeling that child hood warmth once again makes me feel as though I've seeped into a world of memories, letting the sounds of Toy Story and the mario theme song drag me into a place that seemed too far away to remember after entering high school. (My dear friend Joey Robinson insisted I make his name known in my post so there you are! ^.^) The thought that my child spirit is slowly diminishing is slightly depressing and saddens me. As an example I noticed that in growing older, that excitement for christmas on christmas eve is growing dim. You remember those times when you would stay up until 12a.m. on christmas eve and wonder when Santa would be there. And when you did go to bed you wouldn't be able to sleep because of all the thoughts of hearing reindeer hooves tapping on your roof, the sound of the jolly man silently placing gifts in stockings and under the christmas tree, and you wonder, where did all that excitement go? I remember something my mother said this christmas as we had this discussion, she told my brother (who has two adorable chubby little twin boys) "You know when you get that excitement back? When you have kids." I suppose I can imagine the joy and excitement of seeing your child's face in the morning as they unwrap the gift you so lovingly packaged. That burst of excitement like a teen getting a new car for their sweet 16 as you once did at their age. Yet seeing as how parenting is quite a ways away from here I still have a feeling of sadness for the lack of spirit that supposedly won't come back for at least 10 years. Childhood innocence is a great thing I wish I could always keep but at the same time I think that growing up is an adventure that I would most definitely want to live out. "To die, would be a great adventure." so the ever so awesome Peter Pan said right before he was sliced by Captain Hook. And in my opinion Pan was very true. Some questions I must ask as I wrap up my last words;
1. Would it be better to keep the innocence of your childhood as the wrinkles sink in?
2. Is child hood innocence better kept as a memory?
Until next time,
Nay.

Ah What a teenage Life
My eyes blink open
My hair askew
The sun pours in
From my friends window view
I look at the time
And chuckle as it tells me
It is 10 minutes til'
One in the afternoon.
Good morning teenage bed head.
Well, I guess that's what I get for staying up yet again until 4a.m. Being a teenager I suppose I don't see whats so bad about staying up so late. We've got better things to do? During break, at a friends house, with your mother in another state attending a wedding. Better things to do would be climbing a tree and hiding exactly 13 golf balls with-in it's branches as I stated in the previous blog. Better things to do. Looking through the eyes of a teenager that has no job or appreciation for money quite yet, or responsibilities to attend to, I suppose you could say that sleeping in or seeing that we've manged to send and receive over 17,000 texts, doesn't exactly impress us. We go with the excuse that we've nothing better to do anyway when truth be told, this specific teen could be making up certain tests or writing or drawing or improving on certain talents, or even (not saying as if it's the worst thing, rather the most needed) talking to their parents for once in their bloody lives. But in this certain instance, I suppose you could say, I really don't have anything better to do. Unless of course you find mischief more productive and "better" than catching some Zs. (Looking back on what I said about having no job or appreciation for money, it may have seemed quite impertinent but I assure you it's non the less true.) I find that when teens are at home, they complain about having nothing to do or how they're bored, it is the biggest lie to come out of their lips. Really what they're saying is "I'm so laaaaazzzzyyyyy" I can't say that those words have never.... escaped from my mouth *cough* in fact they do all of the time. But I am just letting out a few pointers to parents who might happen to come across this blog. So anytime you hear your child say those words, I don't blame the ever so famous "Wanna do some work for me?" tid bit. It seems that you've all figured that much out. Most of us teens always say "NO! Why would I wanna do work?! That's so boring!" (I think I have right to establish that the use of the word bored from a teen actually means too lazy.) But on the other side, I have to say that the word "work" has become, in this generation, the most dreadful thing you could ever say. And the word "something" is becoming a suspicious incorporate of that dread to a teens ears. So to wrap up the thoughts with a little bow:
*When teens say they have nothing better to do, it's a lie when they're at home or school.
*The word bored from our mouths roughly translates to "lazy"
Another added thought:
Maybe when we say we have nothing better to do, it's because we just don't know what to do with ourselves anymore. Just a thought.
Thanks again for reading my blog! Until next time...

The First Thoughts
Today, I sit on a good friends bed.
Today, I discover true adventure.
Today, I realize how fun a golf course can really be.
Today, I hide abandoned golf balls in a lonely tree.
Today, I jump over water and roll down large hills.
Today, I look deep into the night and evening sky.
Today, I realize how lucky I am...
Today.
So, this is my first blog. And I am at loss of what to write. Many adventures of today tire me and fill my happy heart. Laughter is included. :) I have to say that I am sitting here trying to come up with deep philosophical thoughts. But none seem to be coming out of the hiding places of my mind. Those spots where thoughts like when you walk into a room and pause because you can't seem to remember what in the bloody world you went in there to get. It seems like those thoughts just disappeared, yet you know they're there somewhere. They hide and only come out with enough coaxing, like a lost kitten or a scared puppy. Then there are those thoughts that won't come out even with coaxing and you wonder where in the world they went. Can thoughts grow wings and fly away? I would hope not. Then every thought that figured you didn't deserve to remember it would just fly away. And then, what would we have left to remember? I remember (speaking of thoughts) something from an anime, more specifically the anime Fruits Basket. A young character called Honey explained something about thoughts and memories. He explained that even those painful thoughts and memories he wish that he could just forget, are memories that he tried his hardest to remember, because one days he knew that he would learn something from them, or want to look back and remember what once was. Something of the sort anyway. And I decided that he was quite right. Even those painful memories are wise to keep. I feel like sometimes the only thing that keeps me sane are the memories that hurt, or are just hard to look back on. When I was little I awaited my fathers coming, sitting outside with all the other little children also waiting for their rides. I was maybe in 2 grade at the time. Finally our little red Honda pulled up and I got in. I remember my father turning to me and saying "Grandpa died." I didn't know what to do. I tried to cry, but my brain felt like twisted and knotted yarn. I was so confused and shocked to do anything. Dead? What was dead? I forced myself to at least do something, at least squeeze out a few tears. Although that was a painful memory I never forgot it. And I think it's for the best that I didn't. The innocence of that day, helps me to remember what childhood was like. It helps me to hold on to that childhood that so many people seem to lose. I think that thoughts and memories are important to the way of life. What if we never thought anything? What if we just went on impulse and did everything that first popped into our heads? In my opinion, humanity would be over before it even began. And memories... if we didn't remember anything, life would have absolutely no flavor. We would run into walls and forget that it didn't get us anywhere, we would make the same mistakes over and over, never learning anything. That would suck. There are so many things I could put into this this. But I'll leave the rest of those unanswered questions and brain teasing thoughts to those with the audacity and time to read this blog.
